MANAGING FUTURE B-SCHOOLS: A STEP AHEAD
For a good management institution to survive and to develop a good academic system, certain things are extremely essential which must be looked into.

  1. ACADEMIC PROCESS

Based on the diagram above, the academic process has two important components which include: delivery by the teachers and learning by the students.  Hence for effective delivery mechanism the most important focus should be on the course plan designed in coordination with the vision and mission of the institute, Directors ideology and the university curriculum.  The course plan has four important components: COURSE OBJECTIVES, ASSESSMENT PARAMETERS including both internal as well as external, CREDIT SYSTEM and the ACTIVITY SCHEDULE.  Second important component is the learning process of the student.  The learning objective is to be designed keeping in view the course plan in mind which includes: objectives learned by the student, outcomes of internal and external assessment, actual credits earned and the participation of the student in the activity.  The success of the academic system would depend upon the percentage of the learning actually grasped by the student in accordance with the course plan designed.  Hence, designing of the course plan is the most important and the primary and the essential requirement of any B school which must be done with a proper pre-SWOT analysis.
2.ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS

Looking to the administrative process, three simultaneous sub-processes keeps running under the actual administrative process.  These three sub-processes are student outreach mechanism, financial management and the feedback system.  The student outreach mechanism is the process through which the institution develops a connect or a Rapport with the students of the course so that day to day development reaches them on time; finally resulting in their increased involvement and higher participation in the programs execution.  Hence, the student outreach process involves daily messaging/mailing to the students about the activities, schedule, classes, timetable and assessment parameters, dates of important activities/exams as well as any other information which the institution feels important and necessary to be communicated to the students.  Secondly, it also includes student’s online responses as well as offline and tele-responses to the messaging and mailing been done by the institution.  This helps the institution to increase the attendance of the students resulting in achieving increased programme outcome and also highlights some deficiencies (if any) in the course program due to which students are deviating/de-motivated to achieve the learning outcomes.
Financial management includes working in accordance with the approved budget, creation of the corpus fund and periodical review of the amount spent against each activity task and acting in accordance with these three important sub-processes is the final objective of the financial management.
The third important part of administrative process is a continuous feedback system: both online as well as offline.  This is finally assessed on weekly basis where the previous week’s target is assessed and based on it, the next week’s target is assigned to the staff and the faculty.  Even the feedback of the students taken through online or offline mode is communicated in the weekly meetings for the purpose of enhancing the performance of the faculty and helping them increase their performance.

3.STANDARDIZATION PROCESS

Most B-SCHOOLS after achieving some of their substantial course objectives reaches to a level of self sufficiency which is very harmful for any B-SCHOOL to maintain continuity in the present scenario.  Hence Standardization of the process is extremely important to achieve a benchmark as well as for repeatedly witnessing the best practices of the institution again and again.  Hence, standardization is required in the following areas: teaching delivery mechanism, learning process, feedback process of faculty, feedback process of students, content development system and process and the weekly task revision.  The system should be documented initially and later on should be converted into online process. Periodical audits unit-wise fortnightly and entire process audit should take place on a quarterly basis.  This can keep the regular check on the quality monitoring and mechanisms system of B-SCHOOLS.
